...Is Why We Are
Our Resident | Vision
A world cultivated by passion and beauty, where the seeds of love and understanding grow into a future where everyone always feels truly at Home.
Our Resident | Mission
To nurture a love and appreciation for the beauty of nature by creating and empowering community through the education of sustainably using the Earth's natural beauty to create a Home.
Our Resident | Values
Education: Through learning we understand; through understanding we grow.
Sustainability: The price of beauty can be great; we have to learn the give and take.
Community: We cannot do it alone; a tree only grows tall when it has a large collection of roots.
Meet Our Residents
Joshua Clarke
I grew up surrounded by plants. My grandmother emigrated here from Jamaica and brought the beauty of the island with her. She filled our century old greystone in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia with flowers and foliage of all shapes, sizes, and colors.
I am my grandmother's grandchild. Like her, my love and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the desire to bring that beauty into my home has not waned from childhood. I still hold dear the memories of the lush greenery that filled our home; a home I am proud to now call my own.
As I found myself enraptured by the world of education, I realized a green thumb and penchant for horticulture were not the only things I inherited from my family. Climbing to the top of either side of my family tree would reveal the bountiful branches full of educators who dedicated their lives to the nurturing and growth of others.
These were the seeds that grew into Resident | Leaf: the physical manifestation of my mission to nurture a love and appreciation for the beauty of nature, by creating and empowering community through the education of sustainably using the Earth's natural beauty to create a home. The same way my grandmother did for me all those years ago.
